Sign the petition if you agree:
MLA Ron Wiebe voted for Bill 2, which invoked the notwithstanding clause to suspend teachers’ Charter rights, including the freedoms of expression, assembly and association. He supported passing all three readings in one day, limiting debate and preventing meaningful consultation with constituents. He endorsed an unnecessary and extreme override of constitutional rights that directly harms workers and undermines public trust. An MLA’s duty is to defend the rights of the people they represent, not to strip them away. Because his vote violates this core responsibility, this recall petition is being initiated.
